SEA Ltd
has been in operation since 1990 and has provided a wide range
of sustainable development services from strategic assessments
on waste minimisation, to home energy efficiency programmes and
sustainable tourism developments. We are experts in ecolabelling,
developing partnerships and carbon management programmes. Our team
has undertaken a wide range of work, which has been recognised
as innovative and creative through various measures.
1. We helped establish the UK’s first extensive demand side
management programme with Scottish Hydroelectric in Shetland and
won the Scottish Energy saver of the year award for 1997. This
work involved district heating, waste to energy, home energy insulation,
technical energy audits and shared savings programmes.
2. We designed, created and have supported Green Business UK in the development
of the Green Tourism Business Scheme by providing its operational engine, which
is now in its fourth version with over 2000 participating businesses. We have
undertaken over 10 pilot and roll out programmes to help establish the scheme
in the UK and won both the tourism for tomorrow awards and the beacon award
for sustainable best practice.
3. We have undertaken over 2000 audits and assessments through our own in house
team as green tourism advisory assessments, green tourism accreditation audits,
energy audits for the carbon trust and utility companies and detailed environmental
audits including ecolabel evaluations on the main ecolabels in Europe as part
of an endorsement process with VISIT (an association of the worlds leading
ecolabels in tourism). We are the UK assessors for the EU flower. |
4. We have a growing international portfolio with international
consultancy projects throughout Europe and in New Zealand and
Africa. We are considering the next stage in our international
development through partnerships and business licence arrangements.
5. We have a growing portfolio of training programmes delivered
through Green Business UK and operate as the organisations main
development partner related to activities outside the UK.
6. Partnerships. We have ongoing partnerships contracts and licence
agreements related to our programmes and services and these operate
in the UK, New Zealand and Europe. We are seeking to establish
further relations with organisations which share our values and
commitment.
